Amazon has begun de-ranking books that it deems offensive.
Who is making these decisions? The list is insane. The fact that there *is* a list is insane.
A glitch? Really? *Equality* is a glitch in your system?
JD is right, big business is the new big brother.
Wanna see what this de-ranking effectively does? Go to amazon and do a search for keyword "homosexuality". See what comes up.
Fuck, this pisses me off.
note: It's been pointed out that the responses that come up when you search for "homosexual" are different, more mixed. I just wish i could go back to before deranking and find out what would have come up.

12:05 pm - Wanna be an extra with me in a horror movie in SF?

Hi! Work and life are still too busy for me to blink without missing something! It's craziness!
What's brought me back to the computer right now is this: I'm an extra in a horror movie called All About Evil, shooting right now in San Francisco. Peaches Christ is directing. (I've gotten to hear her scream dramatically in character a bunch of times. It's pretty damn terrific!) We're filming tomorrow, Thursday, 8am-8pm (more likely starting around noon and going through midnight, that's been the gist so far).
If you're interested in hanging out with me and a bunch of other cool folks for about 8 hours, getting fed, and maybe getting some screen time, or even possibly dying horribly onscreen, lemme know! They're trying to fill the theater with "audience member" extras, which means we wear whatever we want to, no crazy costumes or makeup.

OMG.
I...well...um...god this is complex...it was so good, and there were parts that really shone, and parts that didn't translate so well, but it was just so...complete, and the changed ending *worked* *really* *well* and...
I think I need more time to process. Maybe another watching or two, seeing as the midnite show left me in a sleep deprived state.
I will see this one again in the theater. I will get coherent again, really. Really!

1. Tales of the Black Freighter trailer online now!

I'm excited (Gerard Butler seems a really great choice, to me) and hopeful and *scared*. It's either going to be great or it's gonna be Heavy Metal 2000. Please, powers that be, don't skimp on the style and drawing talent and GORE!

This might be old news, but I've been outta the loop so much lately that I haven't seen this one yet. I just gotta say again that the choice of actors for nearly everyone in this movie seems so spot on to me.

3:24 pm - The hell just happened to my icon?

The icon you're seeing is not what you should be. I just *saw* it change on a page reload. My real default icon has somehow been replaced with this one without me doing it. Apparently just now.
I'm changing my password and all that jazz now, but I'm not the only person that this has happened to and I don't think that's it.
What heck y'all? I go away for a few months and it's like I don't understand the internets anymore. I'm gonna go design a website to make myself feel better...
